O fato de que eles s\u00e3o naturalmente suscet\u00edveis \u00e0 infec\u00e7\u00e3o com o AI de alta patogenicidade H5N1 e H1N1 (2009 pandemia) \u00e9 um risco zoon\u00f3tico. Por outro lado, a susceptibilidade \u00e0 infec\u00e7\u00e3o por v\u00edrus de baixa patogenicidade (LPAIV) (H1N9, H6N4) e, especialmente aqueles derivados de aves selvagens \u00e9 mal compreendido. Neste trabalho, os autores demonstram experimentalmente que os gatos dom\u00e9sticos tamb\u00e9m podem ser infectados por LPAIV, seroconvers\u00e3o e desenvolver uma pneumonia intersticial leve, n\u00e3o consegue mostrar cl\u00ednica.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/vet.sagepub.com\/content\/50\/1\/39.full.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Domestic cats are susceptible to infection with low pathogenic avian influenza viruses from shorebirds.<\/em>\u00a0Diskell et al.
