WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small data files received on your device from the website you visit. They are used to record certain browsing interactions by storing data that can later be updated and retrieved. These files are stored on the user’s computer and contain anonymous data that do not harm the system. They are used to remember user preferences such as selected language, login details, or page customization.
Cookies may also be used to collect anonymous information about how visitors use a site—for example, which website they arrived from or whether they clicked on a banner ad.

WHY DO WE NEED YOUR EXPLICIT CONSENT TO USE THEM?
Judgment of the Grand Chamber of the Court of Justice of the European Union, 1 October 2019
The ruling of 1 October 2019 clarifies that consent is not valid when information is stored or accessed on a user’s device through pre-checked boxes that the user must deselect to refuse. Consent must be given explicitly, not assumed by default.
This interpretation applies regardless of whether or not the stored or accessed data are personal data.
The Court also established that service providers must inform users of:
- The duration for which the cookies remain active
- Whether third parties may access the information stored in them
This requirement is stated in the amended Directive 2009/136/EC, which modifies Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC.
WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU REFUSE COOKIES?
If you reject or delete browsing cookies, we will not be able to maintain your preferences, some features of the site may not function properly, and we will need to ask for your consent each time you visit.
